Recovery curriculum
Birds are often seen as a sign of hope, which is something we have all needed in this difficult time. We decided to use this idea as inspiration for our whole school art project. Each class learned about creating different textures. They explored by making wax texture rubbings from nature. Then, they learned about contrasting colours, in order to select colours to make a watercolour wash. They used their textured papers to create individual bird collages.
Each child made a "finger feather for our whole class bird of hope." Team Tavy made the yellow feathers, Plym class were orange and red, Lynher pink and purple and Tamar blue and green. Even though we couldn't be together during the project, we can still collaborate and create wonderful art.
