Design Technology at St George's
Here at St George's the children experience a progressive and broad range of Design Technology lessons. The broad themes are Cooking and Nutrition, Mechanisms, Structures, Textiles, and Electrical Systems (KS2). We aim to challenge, inspire and motivate all children through high quality, engaging lessons. We learn through evaluating and exploring existing products, experimenting with ideas, developing and practising new skills, solving problems, collaboration and innovating.
To support the learning that we do in dedicated DT units, children in each class also access rainbow challenges and continuous provision. This gives them opportunities to experiment with new skills, practice what they have learned, apply skills to new contexts and deepen their understanding. These enhancements allow the children to deepen and develop their own skills and interests in Design Tehnology. Here are some of our DT areas in action.
