If you are considering St Georges C of E Primary Academy for your child , whether this is for Reception or for any other year group, visits to the school are actively encouraged prior to an application being made.

All admissions to the school are handled by Plymouth Local Authority.

Children  who are just about to start school, are accepted into school in September following their fourth birthday.

A Local Authority application form must be completed by parents prior to the January deadline date and parents will be informed of their allocated school in April.  Prior to children joining in September, stay and play sessions are offered and parent teacher meetings will be held. These transition opportunities ensure that children and parents are prepared for school.

 

 

In Year admissions

If you are moving into the area, or considering a move to St Georges for your child, it is recommended that you contact the school and arrange an appointment to look around. Plymouth Local Authority handle all in year admissions and on line application can be completed at www.plymouth.gov.uk/homepage/education/schools/schooladmissions/schoolapplication/primaryadmissions

Appeals

 

Appeals at the normal round of admissions to Reception will be heard within 40 school days of the deadline for lodging appeals on15 May 2017. Where the application was not made in time for a decision to be made on18 April 2017, they will be heard within that 40 day period or, if that is not possible, within 30 days of the appeal being lodged. In-year admission appeals must be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
